Do check with your hardware store, but 1/4&quot; mesh may not resist rats for long.   But what&#039;s in there that they really want any way?
Hope you&#039;ve found some protection for the wires too.  Silly things like color of plastic might be part of the attraction.  Would a rat sampler test which ones they do/don&#039;t like?</description>
