What is a Mushroom Show?

In a good year, over 2 dozen beautifully arranged tables of carefully picked, identified, and displayed wild, locally foraged mushrooms are presented for the public. This colorful event also showcases mushroom cookery and preservation, toxic mushroom information, books and posters for sale, demonstrations of dyeing with mushrooms, a truffle exhibit, mushroom themed art, a “Kids Corner”, medicinal mushroom information, and cultivation of mushrooms, including “grow your own at home” kits for sale, and much more!! And there are plenty of knowledgeable OMS members on hand to answer questions and chat with about mushrooms”
